Tallowood Bush Band began performing in 1979, so 2009 will be their 30 th anniversary. Celebrations are in the planning stage. Details will appear on their myspace page. “Don’t Give Up the Ship” was inspired by the locating of the Australian WW2 ship HMAS Sydney. The lyrics of the song are all direct quotes from TV news reports of the Sydney’s finding. Brian Goddard has been a stalwart of 2bbb since its inception, and this track was recorded especially for “Mudbrick Radio”. It features Mick Giles (vocals, bass and rhythm guitars), Mick Parker (whistle, mandolin and backing vocals), Brian Goddard (fiddle and backing vocals), Rick Reid (percussion and backing vocals), and Barry Mannall (Backing vocals). click here to listen to a short sample |
