2 Triple B Fm Community Radio

1 In 100 Year Flood ?

THE BIG FLOOD!!!!!

We had been worriedly watching the waters lap at the back of our mudbrick home in recent floods, but the deluge of March 31st 2009 was something we could hardly prepare for. Like so many homes and businesses in the Bellingen / Urunga / Sawtell / Coffs Harbour area, we were left in shock and awe at the sheer intensity of the rains and the suddenness of the torrent of stormwater which gushed straight through 2BBB. It appears that none of the drainage systems around here are designed to cope with the intensity of the downpours that are coming our way due to climate change?

We were still valiantly broadcasting as the the water cascaded in, and once the rains had subsided and the electrician had given the all-clear, we were back up on air in a jiffy. Thanks go to all of the volunteers who pitched in and rescued our valuable equipment and who then took part in the massive clean-up. The smell has to be smelt to be believed! If there is any way you can help us recover, please do call in - any help at all will be very gratefully received!

2BBB To Broadcast From Global Carnival

2BBB Broadcasts From Global Carnival

After a succesful testing of the Wirefree broadcast from 2BBB's OB-1 (Outdoor Broadcast Van) at the Organic Growers' market, the station geared up for 30 hours' live broadcasting from this year's Bellingen Global Carnival.

From 6pm Friday October 3rd till 10pm Sunday October 5th Tark's team of intrepid volunteers gave our listeners a taste of what was on at the Global. 30 hours of live outside broadcasting is no mean feat. The interviews with artistes, the vox pop's and the music were all of top quality and were greatly appreciated by the many listeners who couldn't make it to the Showgrounds.

A big thank you to Tark and Trevor from 20/20 Imagineering for their big effort in making the broadcast possible, as well as all the other volunteers and community organisations who have contributed to the upgrade and outfitting of the OB Van.

What is 2 BBB FM?

Chairperson’s Report to
The Annual General Meeting
Bellinger Community Communications Co-operative
18 September 2008

We are moving into a new technological era, and we will be facing many new and challenging innovations in coming years. The long expected energy crisis is upon us, and the near future will also be a time of uncertain macro- and micro-economic performance. There will be some difficult decisions for 2bbb. But I am confident that all those involved with the station will manage the situation well.
